Cistern Illuminated
Brighten up your winter with, Cistern Illuminated, an immersive light and sound installation in the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern. This annual tradition transforms the underground decommissioned drinking water reservoir into a breathtaking spectacle, showcasing the Cistern’s repeating columns and their uncanny reflections on the surface of the water below. A unique and original soundscape follows the moving lights around the cavernous Cistern.

Ring in the Peace
Ars Lyrica presents Ring in the Peace, a 20-minute multi-cultural musical journey from the ninth century onward curated by Mexican-born mezzo-soprano Cecilia Duarte and Spanish-born percussionist Jesús Pacheco. Ring in the Peace offers listeners a new, memorable musical experience that fosters reflection and a sense of unity with one’s communities, both locally and across the world accompanied by the ethereal lighting of Cistern Illuminated.
