FULL – Volunteer Workday

Location:

Houstonians, ages 9 and up, are invited to join Buffalo Bayou Partnership for community-wide volunteer days at Buffalo Bayou Park happening the third Saturday of each month. Whether volunteering as a large or small group, or individually, your efforts will lead to a healthier environment and a more aesthetically pleasing amenity for all to enjoy.

Looking Back History Tour

Location:

Aboard BBP’s pontoon boat, take a look back to the late 1800s when Houston was founded with Louis Aulbach, local historian and author of “Buffalo Bayou: An Echo of Houston’s Wilderness Beginnings” or Andrew Groocock, local historian. Hear stories of the Allen brothers and historical information about the people, places and events along the bayou that helped shape Houston.

Wellness Walk

Buffalo Bayou Partnership Urban Paths Wellness Walk

Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership on a Wellness Walk led by Laura Conely, founder of Urban Paths Wellness Coaching. Anyone and everyone is invited to walk through the paths of Buffalo Bayou Park while discussing topics including mental and physical health as well as the benefits of being exposed to nature.

Second Saturday Boat Ride

Location:

These 30-minute boat rides are a great way to spend the afternoon or evening with your family. Escape from the city and enjoy the cool breeze as you glide along Buffalo Bayou’s waters. Look for graceful herons, jumping fish, and even an occasional alligator sunning on the banks.

Bayou City Music Series: “Soundtrack of the Gulf”

Location:

The Bayou City Music Series resumes this fall with free performances at Discovery Green, Emancipation Park and The Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park. The concert series, made possible by the Kinder Foundation, honors the great jazz, blues and zydeco musicians of Houston and Southeast Texas.
