Don’t miss out on tours of the Lockwood on Buffalo Bayou building\, art tours by the talented artist Gerardo Rosales\, and the vibrant beats of DJ Gracie Chavez. Plus\, the Milby High School Marching Band and Cheer Squad will deliver a special performance. Enjoy activities for all ages from lawn games to face painting. Be sure to grab free tacos and paletas from Boombox Tacos and El Pibe\, while supplies last. \nRegistration is recommended but not required. \nRSVP \n  \nBuffalo Bayou Partnership recently completed construction on the first phase of Lockwood on Buffalo Bayou in partnership with Brinshore\, a national affordable housing developer. SUMMARY:Sunrise Ceremony with the Calmecac Indigenous Organization
DESCRIPTION:Join BBP at Tony Marron Park for the 11th Annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Sunrise Prayer and Ceremonial Gathering led by the Calmecac Indigenous Organization. This sunrise observance will follow the ceremonial construction of a tipi and will honor the Buffalo nation through traditional song\, music\, and dance. All are invited to participate in a Rematriation and Four Winds Blessing led by Abuela M’api Rainflowa\, Co-founder of Calmecac Indigenous Organization\, her mother\, sisters\, and daughter followed by a walk to the bayou for an offering of flowers and herbs. This year\, we have a special ground-breaking activity as we bid a temporary farewell to Tony Marron Park before it begins construction in late 2024.
