DESCRIPTION:In celebration of the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern’s 100th birthday\, BBP will present an original site-specific performance for eight tubas reverberating throughout this cavernous former drinking water reservoir. \nComposer and tubist Thomas Helton has created Foundation\, a new work designed for the Cistern’s unique acoustics. \nTubas are the kings of low brass instruments\, providing the harmonic foundation of an ensemble. For this performance\, musicians will be positioned around the perimeter of the Cistern to create an immersive low-end sound environment. \nAttendees will be invited to circulate throughout each 20-minute performance. \nCost\n$15 \nDuration\n20 minutes \nLocation\nBuffalo Bayou Park Cistern (105-B Sabine St) \n  \nPURCHASE TICKETS
