We’re inviting the community to the newly completed neighborhood park on Japhet Creek\, a historic Buffalo Bayou tributary in Houston’s Fifth Ward. Bring your lawn chairs\, picnic blankets\, and family and friends to enjoy a day in the park with performances from local musicians\, including Step Rideau & The Zydeco Outlaws\, food and drinks\, face-painting\, community organizations and vendors\, and fun activities for all. \n  \nSchedule \n11:00am: Remarks with Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis and Rich Kinder\, Chairman of the Kinder Foundation \n11:30am: Ribbon cutting followed by the Wheatley High School Marching Band and Cheer Squad \n12:00pm: Performance by local band Step Rideau & The Zydeco Outlaws \n1:15pm: Performance by piano prodigy and TikTok sensation Traevon Narcisse \n1:30pm: Tunes with KTSU \n  \nRSVP \n  \nBuffalo Bayou Partnership recently completed construction on the first phase of the Japhet Creek Park improvements\, featuring new trails\, wildflower meadows\, and lawns for gatherings and events.
