For any additional guests wishing to attend\, we will be taking a first-come-first-served waiting list beginning exactly 30 minutes prior to each performance time. \n——— \nJoin us for a special music series in the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern! \nThroughout 2022\, Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) is collaborating with Houston organizations on Underground Sounds\, a series of musical performances that highlight the remarkable natural acoustics of the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern. \nThe third event in the series is organized in partnership with Two Star Symphony and includes four unique concerts. \nTwo Star Symphony’s distinctive sound is inspired by their influences\, which range from Dr. Dre to Danny Elfman to Tom Waits. More band than a classical ensemble\, every member of Two Star is also a composer. Their unique process involves songs written and arranged collaboratively\, with each player responsible for their own part. By the time the songs are finished\, the music is memorized. Two Star does not create sheet music\, so the players are free to focus on listening rather than reading. DESCRIPTION:The Port to Port History Tour is a 2-hour cruise east of downtown on Buffalo Bayou from Allen’s Landing to the Port of Houston Turning Basin. \nIn 1914 with the opening of the Houston Ship Channel and the modern Port of Houston\, the section of Buffalo Bayou from the port’s turning basin to the foot of Main Street (now known as Allen’s Landing) was called the upper channel.  Join bayou guide Andrew Groocock on a historical tour of the upper channel of Buffalo Bayou focusing on the historic significance of this industrial stretch and Houston\, as you cruise the approximately seven miles from the old port of Houston to the new port of Houston. \nCost: $45/person \nDeparture location: 1019 Commerce Street (at Main Street)\, go down the cascading stairs (on your left of the 3-story brown brick building). DESCRIPTION:By Henry G. Sanchez\, 2022 Buffalo Bayou Partnership Artist-in-Residence \nThe BioArt Bayou-torium is a mobile\, interactive installation housed in a modified shipping container. Created by East End artist\, Henry G. Sanchez\, and inspired by the ecosystem of Buffalo Bayou\, the Bayou-torium cultivates stewardship of the natural environment through art and life science activities for all ages. \nGenerous support for Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s Fall/Winter 2022 Programs provided by The Cynthia and George Mitchell Foundation and Vivian L. DESCRIPTION:Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership on a free Wellness Walk led by Laura Conely\, founder of Urban Paths. Anyone and everyone is invited to walk through the paths of Buffalo Bayou Park while discussing topics including mental and physical health as well as the benefits of being exposed to nature. \nWalk departs at 6:30pm at 105 Sabine Street and covers 3 miles in 1.5 hours. \nNEW: The first Wednesday of every month\, translator Marcella Cabrera will join the group to offer the guided walk in Spanish. \nNUEVO: El primer miércoles de cada mes\, la traductora Marcella Cabrera se unirá al grupo para ofrecer la caminata guiada en español. \nFree Registration
