Join us for an exciting new season of Blanket Bingo\, benefiting Market Square Park and Buffalo Bayou Partnership. Bring your blanket\, lawn chairs or snag one of the tables at the park for a night of fun\, music and great prizes! $10 admission (cash only) includes one bingo packet (approx. 9 games). Additional games and daubers can be purchased for $1 each. Packets will go on sale at 6pm and Bingo will begin at 7pm. \nThis event has been known to sell out\, so be sure to get to the park early to secure your chances. \nFood and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome. Outside alcohol is not allowed to be brought into the park; however\, beer and wine are sold at the Niko Niko’s on-site along with delicious Greek and American food. The Historic Market Square neighborhood is home to a variety of other restaurants that also provide take-out food service.

DESCRIPTION:Join BBP and Houston artist Carrie Schneider for an interactive experience to discover what is possible between our public imagination and our relationship with water in Houston\, as we mark the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Harvey. \nHow to make a Waterscape:  Guests will sign up karaoke-style and for the length of your selected song\, you control your own weather system inside of a fish tank. Lights\, bubbles\, waves\, and water set the scene. Bring or select from available objects\, and use your hands to tell your own story about water. \nThe event occurs in relay so that we lend a hand to one another in a mutual aid loop outside of disaster response. SUMMARY:An Interview with Philosopher Timothy Morton
DESCRIPTION:Environmental philosopher\, writer\, and frequent artistic collaborator\, Timothy Morton\, will discuss his contribution to We Are the Asteroid III\, a public artwork on view in Buffalo Bayou Park through September 8th. Morton created the text that appears on this iteration of the artwork\, and is considered one of the most important ecological voices in writing today\, exploring the intersection of object-oriented thought and ecological studies. Morton will be interviewed by Karen Farber\, Director of the University of Houston Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts and Member of BBP’s Public Art Committee. \n6pm: Reception \n6:30pm: Discussion \nAn opportunity for audience interaction with the speakers will follow. \nTimothy Morton is Rita Shea Guffey Chair in English at Rice University.
