His debut album\, The Genie\, was a game-changer\, exploding onto the Billboard charts and solidifying his status as a musical prodigy. A native of Minneapolis\, Bobby began his professional journey as a pianist at just 16\, later studying advanced piano at Macalester College before embarking on a full-time music career. \nBobby’s journey has taken him around the world\, performing at prestigious festivals and venues. He has served as musical director for icons such as Al Jarreau\, Anita Baker\, and Bette Midler\, earning an Emmy nomination for the HBO special Diva Las Vegas. His 1990 album The Journey topped the Billboard jazz chart\, and he remains the only artist with a record (Straight and Smooth) to appear on both the Billboard smooth jazz and traditional jazz charts simultaneously. \nIn Houston\, Bobby is a celebrated performer and educator\, mentoring students and creating opportunities for young musicians.
