Due to the overwhelming response of July’s Sunset Yoga class and the heavy rain that prevented the rooftop yoga, we’re hosting another! Buffalo Bayou Partnership and the Hines Center for Spirituality and Prayer invite you work your core while resetting your focus during a special yoga class. This rare opportunity will allow you to practice your asanas and chattarongas atop the historic Sunset Coffee Building at sundown. The class will take place on the beautiful, spacious rooftop with incredible views of Buffalo Bayou and Downtown Houston – the perfect escape of your normal routine.

Learn more about Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s projects along Houston’s historic waterway and our plans for the East Sector. Preservation Houston will share how they are helping to protect our city’s most important and significant landmarks.

Emerge: Fluvial Tapestries from Hurricane Harvey Opening Reception

Join us for an opening reception of “Emerge: Fluvial Tapestries from Hurricane Harvey” on Friday, October 26. All 12 sand peel sculptures will be exhibited as part of Emerge: Fluvial Tapestries from Hurricane Harvey in the Sunset Coffee Building Gallery in collaboration with Houston Arts Alliance. The exhibition runs Friday, October 26, 2018 through November 7, 2018.

Buffalo Bayou Partnership and Writers in the Schools are hosting celestial and lunar-inspired poetry performances under the ever-changing Lunar Cycle Lighting along Buffalo Bayou. There will be a poetry writing workshop (limited registration), followed by free curated open mic performances, open to the public, featuring spoken word poetry by Houston area poets.

Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) will receive the 2019 Rudy Bruner Silver Medal for the transformation of Buffalo Bayou Park during a presentation on October 28. Following the presentation by Rudy Bruner Foundation Executive Director Anne-Marie Lubenau, a panel discussion will highlight Buffalo Bayou Park and proposed improvements along Buffalo Bayou east of downtown.

We’re celebrating the season with holiday-themed music, bites, libations from Saint Arnold and Frankly Vodka, magical views of downtown from the Sunset Coffee Building rooftop, and Christmas Cruises led by our very own Santa and Mrs. Claus on BBP’s decorated pontoon boat.
