Carmen Herrera: Crafts to Go

Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership and the Houston Center for Photography for some FREE outdoor and at-home family fun. Stop by the Carmen Herrera Estructuras Monumentales in Buffalo Bayou Park (on view through April 23) to learn about Herrera’s sculptures and pick up your very own “Crafts to Go” kit.

Go on a scavenger hunt in the park to explore perspective and framing, two key elements of photography. Children and their families will be inspired to think about how Herrera’s sculptures frame Buffalo Bayou Park in different ways.

Use the prompts from the given scavenger hunt, practice framing your photos with a provided cardboard viewfinder, and then use your smartphone or camera to capture these interesting perspectives and share them on social media with the hashtag #BuffaloBayou and #HCPOnline.
