Buffalo Bayou Partnership introduces free Mediation Mondays at Buffalo Bayou Park every Monday, from 6:30-7pm, through October and November! Start your week off with intention and focus. Practice mindfulness and meditation in one of the most tranquil green spaces in all of Houston - Meditation Mondays at The Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park led by Dana Shamas of Bayou Bliss Yoga.

Join us for an opening reception of "Emerge: Fluvial Tapestries from Hurricane Harvey" on Friday, October 26. All 12 sand peel sculptures will be exhibited as part of Emerge: Fluvial Tapestries from Hurricane Harvey in the Sunset Coffee Building Gallery in collaboration with Houston Arts Alliance. The exhibition runs Friday, October 26, 2018 through November 7, 2018.

#RunBuffaloBayou: East

Lace up your running shoes and explore the East End of Houston on foot with Buffalo Bayou Partnership and the Houston Maritime Museum! This 4-mile run led by Matthew Doyen of the Houston Maritime Museum and Saurabh Chagule of the #RunBuffaloBayou Running Group will be an all-levels group run where we will make intermittent stops to learn about historical sites in the East End.

Birding with the Bats

Join Alisa Kline, a Texas Master Naturalist, for an evening of birding along Buffalo Bayou at Waugh Drive Bridge where a colony of more than 250,000 Mexican free-tailed bats resides. Find out which birds and other critters are attracted to the bats during their nightly emergence. We cannot guarantee hawks will be on the job, but make sure to bring your binoculars. It will be hard to catch the action without them!

Unsilent Night

Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership and the University of Houston Downtown for Unsilent Night! Experience this festive and interactive holiday event in the great outdoors. Unsilent Night is a sound sculpture created when many individuals simultaneously play one of four music tracks by composer Phil Kline. The procession will be leaving from UHD down to the trails along Buffalo Bayou around 7pm.
