    Bayou City Music Series: “Jazz in the Tre” (Emancipation Park)

    Hands for Houston: The Community Bridges Program pairs Rice students with local non-profits

    Famed pianist and composer Jason Moran comes home to the Third Ward. Jazz students from Moran's alma mater, HSPVA, will open. Legendary jazz vocalist Horace Grigsby, rounds out a great night of music.

    Join us for an opening reception of "Emerge: Fluvial Tapestries from Hurricane Harvey" on Friday, October 26. All 12 sand peel sculptures will be exhibited as part of Emerge: Fluvial Tapestries from Hurricane Harvey in the Sunset Coffee Building Gallery in collaboration with Houston Arts Alliance. The exhibition runs Friday, October 26, 2018 through November 7, 2018.

Hear stories of the Allen brothers and historical information about the people, places and events along the bayou that helped shape Houston.

    Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership and GirlTrek: Healthy Black Women and Girls on a free Wellness Walk along Buffalo Bayou's East Sector led by Angel Randolph, Girl Trek group leader, and Laura Conely, founder of Urban Paths Wellness Coaching. Discover the historic East End neighborhood. This scenic urban trail follows along Buffalo Bayou flowing toward Tony Marron Park (808 N. York Street) and is a combination of pavement, dirt and gravel. Wear durable yet comfortable shoes.
