Hurricane Harvey had a significant impact all along Buffalo Bayou. Our staff is working diligently and quickly to restore the waterway’s green spaces and trails. But we need your help! Volunteers are needed to pick up trash and debris, and shovel the enormous amounts of silt that Harvey left behind.
While we have this storm-related work, we also have our routine tasks to ensure that Buffalo Bayou Park’s perennial gardens and meadow areas remain beautiful. Weeding and mulching are just two of the volunteer needs that we have. And we would love to find gardening volunteers who can continue working with us on a regular basis throughout the year.
To learn more about Buffalo Bayou volunteering opportunities, please contact Leticia Sierras at firstname.lastname@example.org or 713.752.0314 ext. 206. Volunteer waiver below.
Together, we will make Buffalo Bayou #HoustonStrong.
Please submit two business days in advance to ensure requested volunteer day and time. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to bring the waiver below signed by a parent/guardian.
Individuals ages 9 and up, and groups larger than 10 are welcome to volunteer Monday through Saturday. Buffalo Bayou Partnership will assign volunteers to areas wherever their services are most needed. BBP will also provide materials like tools, trash bags and special equipment to help get the job done. Sponsorship opportunities are available for corporate groups.
Monthly Volunteer Day: The community is invited to complete a variety of tasks needed to maintain Buffalo Bayou Park every third Saturday of each month. Groups and individual volunteers are welcome.
