Friends of River Oaks Theatre presents a FREE, outdoor screening of the satirical film Being There, co-presented by Buffalo Bayou Partnership. Starring Peter Sellers in his final film and directed by Hal Ashby (Harold and Maude, The Last Detail), Being There tells the story of a simple-minded gardener named Chance has spent all his life in the Washington D.C. house of an old man. When the man dies, Chance is put out on the street with no knowledge of the world except what he has learned from television.
Grab your picnic blankets and join us on The Water Works lawn in Buffalo Bayou Park for an evening reflecting on important topics such as human nature, life and American society.
