*Due to rain, this performance has been rescheduled to Sunday, April 18.*
Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership for a virtual viewing of Line x Light x Color, a site-specific dance performance by Laura Gutierrez created in response to BBP’s exhibition, Carmen Herrera’s Estructuras Monumentales. Gutierrez’s 30-minute piece will highlight the body’s relationship to space and architecture.
Laura Gutierrez is a performing artist and choreographer originally from Houston, TX. Her repertoire includes a series of solo works and choreographic projects that expand audiences’ experiences beyond theatre to embrace nontraditional performance venues like museums, galleries, and outdoor locations. Gutierrez has performed at the Biennale de la Danse de Lyon, Jacob’s Pillow Dance, Brisbane Festival and in museums such as Museo Jumex and The Menil Collection, to name a few. She also has been selected one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch.”
How to join: Register through Zoom here. After registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email that will contain a link to join at 5:30pm on April 18 and an option to add the event to your calendar. A reminder email to tune-in virtually will be sent an hour before the start of the performance.
Programming for Estructuras Monumentales is supported by the Nyquist Family.
