Houstonians, ages 9 and up, are invited to join Buffalo Bayou Partnership for community-wide volunteer days at Buffalo Bayou Park happening the third Saturday of each month. Whether volunteering as a large or small group, or individually, your efforts will lead to a healthier environment and a more aesthetically pleasing amenity for all to enjoy.

Moving East: Community Meeting

Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP), the non-profit organization revitalizing Houston's historic waterway, is moving east. After developing Buffalo Bayou Park and other award-winning green space projects in the downtown area, BBP is making plans to transform the 5-mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou from US 59 to the Port of Houston Turning Basin.

Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP), la organización sin fines de lucro encargada de renovar el canal histórico de Houston, está expandiendo sus esfuerzos hacia el este. Después del exitoso y premiado desarrollo del Parque Buffalo Bayou y otros proyectos de los espacios verdes cerca del centro de la ciudad, BBP está planeando transformar las cinco millas del canal Buffalo Bayou desde la carretera US 59, hasta su cuenca en el Puerto de Houston.

Ecology Walking Tour

Enjoy a free walking tour in Buffalo Bayou Park highlighting the landscape and ecology of 19th century Texas that created Houston, as well as the importance of prairies in rebuilding this astonishing and all but vanished ecosystem.

Wellness Walk

Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership on a Wellness Walk led by Laura Conely, founder of Urban Paths Wellness Coaching. Anyone and everyone is invited to walk through the paths of Buffalo Bayou Park while discussing topics including mental and physical health as well as the benefits of being exposed to nature.

These 30-minute boat rides are a great way to spend the afternoon with your family. Escape from the city and enjoy the cool breeze as you glide along Buffalo Bayou’s waters. Look for graceful herons, jumping fish, and even the occasional alligator sunning on the banks.
