Second Saturday Boat Ride

A newly commissioned artwork for the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern by multimedia artist Anri Sala (b. 1974 Tirana, Albania), Time No Longer offers an immersive, other-worldly experience of film and sound within this vast, subterranean reservoir on the edge of downtown Houston.

Carmen Herrera: Crafts to Go

Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership and the Houston Center for Photography for some FREE outdoor and at-home family fun. Stop by the Carmen Herrera Estructuras Monumentales in Buffalo Bayou Park (on view through April 23) to learn about Herrera’s sculptures and pick up your very own “Crafts to Go” kit.

RESCHEDULED: Line x Light x Color: Live Stream Dance Performance

Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership for a virtual viewing of "Line x Light x Color," a site-specific dance performance by Laura Gutierrez created in response to BBP’s exhibition, Carmen Herrera’s Estructuras Monumentales. Gutierrez’s 30-minute piece will highlight the body’s relationship to space and architecture.

“Time No Longer”: Virtual Discussion

"Time No Longer" is the newly commissioned sound and film installation in the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern. Artist Anri Sala, sound designer-collaborator Olivier Goinard, and musician André Vida will discuss the inspiration and ideas behind this groundbreaking work.

DACAMERA Young Artists perform Olivier Messiaen's iconic Quartet for the End of Time, which serves as the soundtrack for the installation in the Cistern, Time No Longer. The composition, created while Messiaen was imprisoned in a German war camp during World War II, confirms the composer's enduring faith and is a testament to beauty prevailing over darkness. Sarah Rothenberg, DACAMERA's artistic director, will lead a short discussion on the work preceding the performance.
