Join Alisa Kline, a Texas Master Naturalist, for an evening of birding along Buffalo Bayou at Waugh Drive Bridge where a colony of more than 250,000 Mexican free-tailed bats resides. Find out which birds and other critters are attracted to the bats during their nightly emergence. We cannot guarantee hawks will be on the job, but make sure to bring your binoculars. It will be hard to catch the action without them!

Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) will receive the 2019 Rudy Bruner Silver Medal for the transformation of Buffalo Bayou Park during a presentation on October 28. Following the presentation by Rudy Bruner Foundation Executive Director Anne-Marie Lubenau, a panel discussion will highlight Buffalo Bayou Park and proposed improvements along Buffalo Bayou east of downtown.

Concert in the Park: “Quartet for the End of Time”

DACAMERA Young Artists perform Olivier Messiaen's iconic Quartet for the End of Time, which serves as the soundtrack for the installation in the Cistern, Time No Longer. The composition, created while Messiaen was imprisoned in a German war camp during World War II, confirms the composer's enduring faith and is a testament to beauty prevailing over darkness. Sarah Rothenberg, DACAMERA's artistic director, will lead a short discussion on the work preceding the performance.

All systems are go for Space Jams, an out-of-this world fundraiser hosted by Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s YP group, The Currents.
