Enjoy a free walking tour in Buffalo Bayou Park highlight how the landscape and ecology of 19th century Texas created Houston, as well as the importance of prairies in rebuilding this astonishing and all but vanished ecosystem.
Enjoy a free, one-hour walking tour presented by BBP and Katy Prairie Conservancy, led by Texas Master Naturalists. The tour will highlight how the landscape and ecology of 19th century Texas created Houston, as well as the importance of prairies.
These 30-minute boat rides are a great way to spend the afternoon with your family. Escape from the city and enjoy the cool breeze as you glide along Buffalo Bayou’s waters. Look for graceful herons, jumping fish, and even an occasional alligator sunning on the banks.
Weather permitting. No reservations are taken for these tours. They are first come, first serve.

Houstonians, ages 9 and up, are invited to join Buffalo Bayou Partnership for community-wide volunteer days at Buffalo Bayou Park happening the third Saturday of each month. Whether volunteering as a large or small group, or individually, your efforts will lead to a healthier environment and a more aesthetically pleasing amenity for all to enjoy.

Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership and our friends at Trees For Houston as we help restore Buffalo Bayou Park following damage caused by Hurricane Harvey. Volunteers will remove dead trees and prep the bayou for a future tree planting with trees graciously donated by Trees for Houston.
